Can you protect a hoist kept outside?

Hoists stored outside face a range of difficulties from exposure to the elements.  Ice, snow, rain and condensation can cause electrical components to short-circuit as well as motors, limit switches, pendants and control enclosures to fill with water and corrode.

To ensure your hoist’s operation and protect your investment, a Hoist Shelter can provide the necessary protection from precipitation, sunlight and other elements.

Model: HS3072 Hoist Shelter

Our hoist shelters protect hoisting equipment kept outside from the elements. They reduce downtime and extend the life of your hoist. The model HS3072 Hoist Shelter offers the following features:

  • Size: 6 feet long x 2.5 feet wide
  • Materials: Galvanized sheet metal roof and frame, UV-resistant PVC weather stripping sides.
  • Installation: By purchaser, instructions provided
  • PDF Drawing Download

What size Hoist Shelter should you buy?

For the best protection, we recommend purchasing a Hoist Shelter that offers one to two feet of coverage in each direction around the hoist. This will allow for weather protection and air circulation.

A model #HS3072 Hoist Shelter is suited to cover a wire rope hoist, such as an Electrolift wire rope hoist or a Street Crane wire rope hoist.

Why use a Hoist Shelter?

Our outdoor hoist shelters provide an economical and effective way to protect an outside hoist from the negative effects of the weather. Benefits of using a hoist shelter include:

  • Protection from precipitation and sunlight that leads to condensation inside the hoist
  • Galvanized steel roof and UV-resistant PVC siding provide a durable, lasting cover
  • Cost savings on replacement and maintenance services for the hoist’s lifetime
  • Use in addition to weather-proof coating on the hoist for especially corrosive environments
  • Add years of life to an outdoor hoist

How will your Hoist Shelter be shipped?

Hoist shelters are palletized for shipment and available FOB Clarksburg, NJ 08510, either with prepaid and added freight charges or freight collect by your preferred LTL carrier. Direct pick up at our hoist workshop is also available.

How will your Hoist Shelter be installed?

The Hoist Shelter clamps to your existing monorail, bridge beam or jib crane beam. Instructions for installation are included or professional installation services can be provided to customers within our service area.

At the time of purchase, we’ll contact you to confirm your beam size, however, all typical I-beam and W-beam sizes are accommodated. Each Hoist Shelter is fabricated with the beam size in mind to allow the correct “door” space in the weather stripping for the beam and hoist to pass through.
